Tragic Crash Claims Life of Calera Resident in School Bus Collision
In a heartbreaking incident reported by Carol Robinson at Al.com, a 62-year-old Calera resident, Tracy Dyck, lost his life in a collision with a school bus on Friday afternoon. The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at an intersection on Smokey Road near the Stone Creek subdivision. It was noted that the school bus had just departed from Calera Middle School.

Tracy Dyck was swiftly airlifted to UAB Hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead. In addition to this devastating loss, several students on the bus sustained minor injuries.
